The Erasmus+ Mobility of Youth Workers project "Don't Get Caught in The Cycle of Addiction!" (Project No. 2023-3-ES02-KA153-YOU-000179486) successfully concluded in Gijón, Spain, after six days of intensive learning, collaboration, and intercultural exchange. Coordinated by Generaciones Saludables España, the project brought together partner organisations, including Riders of the Storm Association, alongside participants from Bulgaria, Czechia, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Türkiye to strengthen youth work practices addressing technology addiction.
The final day focused on recognising participants' learning achievements through the Youthpass evaluation process. Participants reflected on the knowledge, competencies, and professional skills they had developed throughout the mobility, assessing their personal growth and identifying how these new competences could be transferred into their everyday youth work.
Following the evaluation activities, participants explored the cultural and historical heritage of Gijón, gaining a deeper understanding of the host community while continuing to strengthen intercultural dialogue. Guided visits and conversations with local residents reinforced the importance of cultural diversity, inclusion, and international cooperation within Erasmus+ projects.
The project concluded with a comprehensive final evaluation session, where participants reviewed the week's activities, discussed the project's outcomes, and shared recommendations for future initiatives. The collaborative reflection demonstrated that the mobility had successfully achieved its objectives of raising awareness about technology addiction, promoting healthier digital habits, developing innovative educational approaches, encouraging the exchange of good practices, and strengthening the professional capacities of youth workers across Europe.
For Riders of the Storm Association, participation in this international mobility represented another valuable opportunity to expand its expertise, establish new European partnerships, and bring innovative methods back to its local community. The knowledge, educational tools, and international experience gained during the project will continue to support the organisation's future youth work activities, contributing to the promotion of responsible technology use and healthier digital lifestyles among young people.
