Who We Are?
Founded in 2010, Riders of the Storm started with a clear mission to be a guiding compass for young people who seek personal growth and self-improvement across various life aspects. In 2022, we officially registered as a non-governmental organization (NGO) in Budapest, Hungary, solidifying our commitment to being a key player in youth development in Europe. Our journey is driven by the belief that every individual, regardless of background, can access opportunities for learning, growth, and social integration within their communities.
As an organization, Riders of the Storm provides an inclusive space for youth across Europe to engage in non-formal education and a variety of impactful activities. Our overarching aim is to facilitate the integration of young people into European society, offering them the tools, support, and opportunities they need to become responsible citizens and active community members. Whether you are interested in improving your language skills, learning about new cultures, exploring different career paths, or simply meeting people with diverse backgrounds, we create a welcoming environment for everyone to thrive.
Our Core Areas of Focus
At Riders of the Storm, we prioritize lifelong learning and adult education. Many of our team members have years of experience in the education sector, and we draw from a wealth of knowledge in fields such as intercultural communication, environmental awareness, social inclusion, human rights, and entrepreneurship. Through a combination of training programs, workshops, and youth exchanges, we empower young people to take part in shaping a better future.
We are particularly focused on helping young people discover their potential and take on active roles within their communities, encouraging them to become responsible citizens within the European Union. Our work also extends to a variety of critical societal issues, including combating social exclusion, promoting equality, and advocating for the rights of disadvantaged groups, such as ethnic minorities, women, senior citizens, and people with disabilities.
Our Impactful Activities
Our organization’s core activities center around non-formal education methodologies, which have proven to be highly effective in engaging young people and fostering an environment of mutual learning and support. We organize youth exchanges, training courses, and creative workshops that provide participants with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in their personal and professional lives. Our key areas of action include:
Youth Exchanges: We have been actively involved in various Erasmus+ projects across Europe, including Turkey, Greece, Spain, and Poland, where we have organized and participated in several youth exchanges focused on social issues, disabilities, environmental concerns, and entrepreneurship. Examples of projects include "Problem? Let’s Solve It!" and "See New Possibilities in Disability."
Entrepreneurship: We offer training and workshops to cultivate an entrepreneurial mindset among youth. For example, our members have participated in entrepreneurship congresses and creative workshops, including those held in Berlin, Bodrum, and Romania. These initiatives have allowed us to build a network of young entrepreneurs who are passionate about bringing innovative ideas to life.
Community Development: Our team has successfully implemented community-driven projects, including research on social needs, creating noise maps, and raising awareness about environmental sustainability and healthy living. The "Noise Map" project, for example, which involved participants from multiple countries, aimed to raise awareness about the detrimental effects of noise pollution on people's well-being.
Building Connections Through Leadership and Networking
Our team of dedicated leaders and project managers brings invaluable experience to every initiative. With backgrounds in economics, business, communication, and education, each member plays a pivotal role in the design, implementation, and management of our projects. From coordinating events to overseeing dissemination strategies, we ensure that each project runs smoothly and achieves its goals.
Some of the key members contributing to the organization’s success include:
Jeyhun Mammadov: A graduate in World Economy and International Business who is passionate about social entrepreneurship. Jeyhun has participated in various Erasmus+ projects and brings valuable experience in project management, communication, and team leadership to the organization.
Abdulla Mammadli: A skilled Financial Analyst with expertise in entrepreneurship and social innovation. Abdulla has attended numerous creative workshops and has an extensive background in entrepreneurship, making him a key contributor to the development and implementation of our programs.
Social Media Expert: A successful entrepreneur in the e-commerce industry, specializing in digital marketing and social media outreach. She plays a crucial role in promoting the organization’s activities and ensuring that our projects reach a wide and diverse audience.
These key team members, alongside a network of engaged volunteers and participants, ensure the continued success and sustainability of our projects.
Past and Ongoing Projects
Our organization has a track record of successful participation in EU-funded projects and initiatives. Some notable projects include:
Noise Map (2022-3-HU01-KA152-YOU-000095775): A project aimed at raising awareness of noise pollution and its effects on mental and physical health. This initiative involved young people from Hungary, Turkey, Italy, France, and the Czech Republic, who worked together to create a Noise Map and raised awareness about the harmful impacts of excessive noise.
