We are thrilled to share the outcomes of our latest Erasmus+ project, Developments from the World, which focused on combating youth unemployment through awareness, skill-building, and international collaboration. As a committed partner in this initiative, our organization joined efforts to address the social, economic, and personal impacts of youth unemployment—an issue that resonates globally. The project took place on 15-22 June 2023 in Sakarya, Turkey. The countries participating in the project were as follows: Czechia, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Portugal, Spain, Turkey.
Developments from the World was designed to explore the root causes of youth unemployment, highlight innovative approaches from around the world, and provide participants with actionable insights to help tackle this challenge. The program united young people from various countries, giving them the tools to address unemployment issues in their communities and empowering them to take active roles in shaping economic opportunities.
Throughout the project, participants engaged in a series of impactful activities, including:
Workshops and Presentations on global employment trends, local challenges, and government policies related to youth unemployment.
Fieldwork in Key Sectors: Participants gained firsthand experience in fields like agriculture, industry, and tourism to understand the realities and potential job opportunities in these areas.
Survey and Interview Initiatives: By conducting local surveys, participants gathered insights into the challenges and perceptions surrounding employment, which they then analyzed and presented in an international context.
Scenario-Based Role-Playing: Participants acted out real-world job search and employment situations to build empathy, resilience, and creative problem-solving skills.
Key Outcomes and Impact
The Developments from the World project had a profound impact on both participants and partners. Among the key outcomes were:
Empowered Youth: Participants developed critical skills and resilience, preparing them to seek and create opportunities in the workforce.
Increased Cultural Understanding: Through the Erasmus+ exchange, young people broadened their perspectives by working alongside peers from different cultures, fostering respect, tolerance, and unity.
Breaking Down Stereotypes: By collaborating on shared goals, participants overcame cultural barriers, promoting empathy and solidarity.
Local and Global Awareness: Participants returned to their communities equipped with insights on unemployment issues, ready to advocate for supportive policies and practices.
Our organization is proud to have been part of this impactful project. We believe that by bringing youth unemployment to the forefront and involving young people directly in these conversations, we are paving the way for more inclusive, resilient economies and communities.
